I went to Fan Expo Chicago this year to debut two new cosplays and host my first solo cosplay panel. I hadn’t been to this convention since it was called Wizard World though. Thus, I have a lot of feelings and thoughts I wanted to share. Especially since I’m going to be getting on with mapping out my 2024 convention schedule. So this is going to be my Fan Expo Chicago recap.

I should probably start with the fact I debuted two new cosplays for my Fan Expo Chicago recap. The first one I brought on the Thursday of the con, it was the Invisible Man from the 2020 film. I got to wear this one for my panel and talk about the making of it too during that time. It wasn’t a super easy to recognize cosplay but I was so excited to finally get it out to the public after working on it for over two months.

I also debuted Daisy Mae from Animal Crossing on the Friday. Now, if you watch my YouTube you’d know from the tutorials I was working on it already. This one was pretty hard to bring to a convention hall since I had to balance two massive foam turnips on my head in a basket while I walked but I still loved every second of it.

There’s also the matter of my panel. It was called “Exploring Unique Mediums in Cosplay” and it occurred on the Thursday. It was honestly the coolest experience ever. I so deeply enjoyed getting to be up in front of fellow cosplayers and sharing my knowledges and taking questions to try and help cosplayers in a new way. It has me already thinking about my next panel. I’m also working on editing the live stream I did of the panel and my slides to make a video for people to watch incase they couldn’t attend.

I made sure to create a vlog also that I am sharing in my Fan Expo Chicago recap too. You can watch it below.
