How I Made Chucky
This was actually a costume I ordered from AliExpress. Now that site can be very hit or miss, I know. But this was definitely one of the hits. The wig I did style for the pigtails and then I created my first ever EVA foam prop for Chucky. This prop is a simple kitchen knife. I even drafted the pattern for it which was also my first time. It’s based off a knife from my moms kitchen since I was still living with her when I made this.
I did end up remaking the knife though. I used the same pattern but after 2 years of working with foam I realized, I could do better.

Why I Chose Chucky
I have always been a pretty big horror fan when it comes to movies. I remember watching the Chucky movies a lot in my dorm my freshman year of college even. The way the franchise started as a serious, scary movie and progressed into something that could both scare me and make me laugh is just facinating. So I felt Chucky would be fun but there is a figurine of a female Chucky that I really liked too. Thus I chose the route of genderbending this character.
Final Thoughts
I think this version of Chucky is honestly adorable. The little jumper is just too cute and I love to wear it. This cosplay also began the start of crafting cosplays from foam and really kicked off my entire journey as someone who crafts cosplays. It snowballed into something massive and I am so glad to be where I am because of it.
