Why I Chose the Invisible Man

I really connected with the 2020 Invisible Man movie. As someone who also had been a victim or abuse from a partner, they really did a phenomenal job with how they portrayed it and I really appreciated the story. The suit had me very mesmorized because I knew creating something like it wasn’t going to be easy. But I really wanted to because of how much I connected with the movie.

Final Thoughts

This project took forever and was honestly very tedious. Not so much to create the bodysuit but just the puffy paint. I had to make it a low energy background project just to avoid burn out. It was in the end very worth it though. The suit is beyond comfortable to wear and I was so happy with how it looks.

The cosplay also led to doing a panel on making cosplays with unique mediums because I felt it’s important for cosplayers to realize there is more than fabric and foam. Cosplay is about combining mediums to create your desired end result.

How I Made the Invisible Man

I was able to make the body suit with a sewing pattern and Yaya Han fabric that had hexagons patterned all over it. In order to create the effects of it being covered in cameras though I had to try something new. The solution was puffy paint. The little dots were perfect to create a 3D cameras lens in each and every single hexagon.
