Star Wars has incredible story and great characters. If you’re a big fan like I am then you probably are enjoying all the shows and movies we’re getting like Bad Batch and the Mandalorian. Besides being a Star Wars fan though I’m a cosplayer and if you are too then you might be trying to decide on some good Star Wars cosplay ideas to try. Well look no further since this list will give you options like classic characters, absolute icons and some new characters to cosplay.
- A Wookiee – If you’re into the art of creating fur suits then a wookiee is the right character for you. There’s lots of great options from the iconic Chewbacca, the adorable Gungi or the oh so powerful Krrsantan.
- A Dark leader – Playing the bad guy can often times be fun. There’s lots of Sith leaders in the Star Wars galaxy to leave you a few options to choose from. This includes Kylo Ren, Darth Vader, Count Dooku or Emperor Palpatine.
- Lady Sith – There’s some pretty powerful ladies that chose the dark side with their powers. You could cosplay any of these women such as Asajj Ventress or Barriss Offee
- Powerful Women – My favorite part of the Star Wars franchise is all the incredibly powerful women in it. There’s a lot of great women in power you can cosplay as such a Princess Leia Organa, Senator Padme Amidala or Duchess Satine Kryze.
- Bounty Hunters – There is so many bounty hunters in Star Wars. Like seriously a TON to choose from. There’s some very iconic ones like Fennec Shand and Aurra Sing.
- Mandalorians – No this doesn’t just mean THE Mandalorian. There’s a lot of Mandalorians in the Star Wars franchise to try and cosplay such as Boba Fett, Jango Fett, The Mandalorian Din Djarin, Bo-Katan or the mysterious Armorer.
- Iconic Jedi Masters – There was a lot of Jedi masters that taught younglings and other young Jedi. These make great characters to cosplay when you want to look like a powerful good guy. You could try out characters like Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker, Mace Windu or Qui-Gon Jinn.
- Clones – Clone troopers give lots of options for cosplays. You can be any of the unnamed standard clones if you want or you can be someone a little more memorable like Captain Rex, Captain Phasma or any of the Clones from Clone Force 99 AKA the Bad Batch. These clones include Echo, Omega, Hunter, Crosshair, Wrecker or Tech.
- Create an OC – With such a vast galaxy you can easily create your own original character. You could try with species such as Twi’Leks to bring to life and tell your own story with your cosplay.
- A Rebel – The dark side led to a lot of rebels coming forward. If you consider your personality a little more rebellious than you should definitely cosplay rebels. This includes characters like Saw Gerrara or Cassian Andor.
- Dathomirian – This species is dark and requires some skill with cosplay makeup. But if you think you have what it takes you could cosplay as Darth Maul or Savage Opress.
- Smugglers – Whether they were more of a background character or one of the main three, smugglers play a key role in the Star Wars franchise. You should consider any of these cosplays if you want to be one: Han Solo, Cid Scaleback or Lando Calrissian. They’re sure to all be great Star Wars cosplay ideas.
- A Padawan – We met a lot of young Padawans thanks to Order 66 and even watched many grow into proper Jedis. Some Padawans you could cosplay include Ahsoka Tano, Grogu or Anakin Skywalker.
- Members of the Resistance – In the newer Star Wars movies we were introduced to the Resistance who is trying to stop Kylo Ren. It meant new characters were introduced and they’re perfect to cosplay, like Poe Dameron or Rey.
