Utilize Trends
From sounds to hashtags, there’s an abundance of trends that come and go on social media. What platforms are utilizing these trends and in what forms?
For short form videos, you can upload to Instagram as reels, YouTube as shorts or TikTok. All platforms utilize audios and hashtags that can be trending. It’s vital to pay attention to what trends are currently popular and try to capitalize on them during the peak. Be sure to also add your own unique spin to it so it’s not just a copy.
As for hashtags, those are used on all of Instagram (pictures and reels) and even on long form YouTube videos. Make sure to find ones relevant to your niche and are trendy.
Optimize Content for Search Engines (SEO)
SEO content is a great way to organically grow your following. This is content that has regular search volume each month on search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo. You then try to optimize the content with a searchable keyword or long tail query to get discovered organically. But what content can count toward this?
Social media does in some instances come up in search engines. Specifically, platforms like TikTok have been acknowledged as a search engine.
More commonly acknowledge SEO content is copy on your website (product list names and descriptions), blogs and long form YouTube videos. There’s key ways to optimize each form of content:
- Blog – You want to optimize this in a few ways. Start with a title that will be your key term or long tail query. From there, in the blog copy, have H2s with alternative key terms and use your title key term in the copy. Be sure not to over saturate it. You should also try to have an image with alternative text that contains your keyword. Make sure yo have a healthy amount of internal and external links as well.

You can find tons of SEO software to help you optimize your content such as Yoast and TubeBuddy.
Engage with Your Audience
If you want your audience to engage on your content you need to create content they want to interact with and engage with them yourself. Everything from liking and replying to comments can go a long way to encourage your followers to keep interacting on your posts. Pose questions with your content and make sure you’re communicating in the comments.
Be Consistent
You can’t post once and fall off for weeks or months at a time and expect growth. People want to follow creators who are actively posting. This doesn’t mean spam the timeline every hour on the hour, but it means maintaining regular posting or some sort of schedule so people know when to expect a post from you.
Create Unique & Quality Content/Cosplays
Both your content and cosplays should be high quality and unique. If you’re creating low quality content that’s just a copy off everyone else, people won’t have a reason to follow. Find ways to make your brand stand out and have your posts reflect that. Ensure your photos and videos are of visual quality and well edited too.
Have a Unified & Unique Brand
Your personal brand needs to stand out from other cosplays and be consistent. Every platform should feel unified by a common theme of logos, color scheme, filters and more. Try to establish this in the beginning and then just do your best to maintain. It can help to have set color schemes, fonts and a logo that you always use.
