Holiday sales are coming in hot. So how can a cosplayer capitalize on them to increase their revenue? There’s quite a few options to try and that’s why I made this list of Black Friday sale ideas for cosplayers. So whether you’re focused on modeling, photography or crafting, there’s sure to be something for you to try out. I did break up the list by the different types of cosplayers, but feel free to consider stealing ideas from any section no matter what you do. What you choose mostly depends on what you sell to make revenue.
Photographers
For photographers, there’s the possibility of offering discounted sessions. These can be themed sessions for the holidays, first timers or repeat clients getting the special price. Alternatively, if you offer classes on posing and photography to cosplayers, you can also offer discounted courses or resources. Digital download resources can make for great discounts that purchasers use for gifts to their favorite cosplayer.
Crafters
If you make your own cosplays, there’s quite a few options you have for discounts depending on what you currently offer.
- Patterns – 3D files and foam or sewing patterns are a great way to make revenue as a cosplayer. They’re easy to self maintain since they can be sold as a digital download. As long as you know where to sell them, and that platform allows for you to give discounts, this is a great option for your Black Friday sale.
- Commissions – If you take commissions as a crafter, you can offer a discount on a limited amount. This can drum up FOMO if you say only the first 3 will get the sale price.
- Premade props and costumes – Premade cosplays like props, masks and more can be sold for a discounted price as well during Black Friday. This is also a great way to clear out last years inventory and make room for the upcoming new year’s supply.
- Ebooks and books – If you have physical books or ebooks available as a cosplayer, you can offer those for a discounted price. The ebooks are a great option since those like patterns, are a digital download and require minimal fulfillment from you.
Models
If you focus on modeling costumes, you need to try these black Friday sale ideas for cosplayers:
- Prints – As a cosplay model, you probably have a print shop. Sell both digital files or signed physical prints for a discounted rate for your fans to purchase.
- Subscriptions – Whether it’s Pateron, OnlyFans, Fansly or some other subscription platform, offer a discount on the price for the month to get new members who may end up resubbing the next month for full price.
- Merch – If you have merch like stickers, t shirts, etc., you can discount these as well.
