Why I Chose Sam
Sam is one of the most adorable bad guys in horror. From his subtle head tilt to his lollipop, everything about Sam is adorable. Even if he is a little murderous, he does it all for the spirit of Halloween. I too love Halloween and wanted to express that love by cosplaying as him. I needed more horror characters since I am such a fan of the genre and I knew Sam was the perfect choice.
How I Made Sam
This was another easy cosplay to put together. I made him before I got really into crafting so I mostly assembled it with pre made parts. I purchased a pair of orange footy PJs and weathered it with an airbrush and sewed on yellow felt patches. I also added burlap fabric to the feet. The gloves I sewed myself and the tutorial can be found on my YouTube channel.
The mask I originally purchased at a Spirit Halloween store but I just wasn’t happy with the eyes since they were glued on rubber buttons. So I removed them and sewed on real button eyes. This was insanely difficult since I did it by hand had to puncture through the burlap fabric and the rubber mask inside.
Final Thoughts
This cosplay turned out ADORABLE. Sam is a favorite of mine to cosplay and the prints turned out really well in the end. It also was a great lead up to really get into sewing as a cosplayer.
