Finding fellow cosplayers to collaborate with, getting questions answered, safely showcasing accomplishments and more can be hard without a safe space for it. I set out to try and create a space for cosplayers to do all of the above with ease. The solution was the Cosplay Support Corner Discord server. It has a variety of channels to ask questions and network. Join my new cosplay support discord server and see all of the following spaces it has to offer.
Welcome and FAQ
Upon entering the server, there is a category to welcome new members. It introduces the server’s purpose, the rules and has an FAQ for basic questions. It also has a channel for role set up so you can identify if you’re a crafter and what materials you use, if you have open commissions, if you’re a model and/or photographer and whether you do NSFW content, if you’re an influencer and the platforms you use, if you’re a competitor or judge and the division you compete in, and whether you’re an author in the cosplay space.
There is also a channel called the suggestion box where members can make recommendations for the server. As well, we have an announcement channel to share events and more that’s going on.
Community
The community space is ideal for networking with others in the cosplay community. When you join my new cosplay support discord server you should automatically have access to this area. It has general chatting areas as well as a space to share pictures like memes and pets. If you’re trying to make more friends with cosplayers this will be a great space to look.
Questions and Tips
This category is large. This is to ensure cosplayers are able to get all the help they need and more veteran cosplayers can share what they know. There’s question channels for different things like crafting, competition, content and more. It also has a space where people can share free advice they have or free resources that are available.
Looking For…
As a cosplayer, there has probably been times you’ve struggled to find where to order commissions, reference images, collab opportunities and more. The Cosplay Support Corner Discord server makes it easier to find what you need. The Looking for category has channels to search for collaboration, patterns, references, shopping sites, commissions, photographers and models, cons and competitions, friends and even gaming opportunities.
Show Off & Safe Space
Part of the fun of cosplay is showing off. Whether you have achieved a milestone or have a new cosplay, you can proudly show it off. However with things like venting, feedback and WIPs you might want more reassurance that people won’t be mean and will remain constructive. The safe space category is just the place for you then.
Conventions
Are you taking a cosplay to a convention or Renaissance faire? You can tell us all about it in the conventions category. You can also find who else will be there, share about parties and meet ups , and more.
Promotion
Self promoting is important for cosplayers looking to make sales or grow their following. Whether you have a store, commissions, social media or content, you’re able to share it in the many self promote channels.
Voice Channels
Typing and talking is always fun. However sometimes it is nice to hop on a call to chat. That’s why I opened up several voice channels in the Discord server as well. It includes a lounge for casual chatting, a community hang out to host for community events, a stream room for people looking to stream together, a game room for people to game together and an event channel to host panels and more within the server.
